Even an intimate wedding ceremony requires lots of planning. This list is just for starters. Use it for inspiration and jot down your other ideas and questions as you go along.
BE PREPARED-NOT STRESSED.
Having your wedding ceremony at home-even at your new home as newlyweds-is an amazing idea, and an event your family will always remember. The best thing about having your wedding at home is how personal and cozy it can be. Imagine – getting ready in your childhood room and coming down the staircase in your gown to meet your life partner. Choose the right people to help, and you’ll walk down your unique aisle stress-free. What makes a private residence unique-an elegant dining room, a massive oak tree in your backyard, a gorgeous lawn, or a spectacular view? Play up that feature to create a homey feel and photos that you will cherish forever.
IS YOUR HOME PICTURE PERFECT?
Does the yard or home need a bit of sprucing up? Fine to do some painting and landscaping but make sure it’s done well in advance of the wedding weekend. Flowers always make a nice pop of color for your wedding photos. If you don’t have time to plant them use colorful pots for an additional splash of color.
GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT
Make it easy on yourself, hire cleaners for before and after the wedding.
GIVE YOUR FURRY KIDS SOME SPACE
We know your pet is like a child to you, but your guests may not have the same amount of affection. If they will be a part of the ceremony, put someone in charge of taking care of them after the ceremony. Your furry kids may get seriously freaked out by all of the commotion. Board the babies.
DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH POTTIES?
Some wedding experts say you need one bathroom for every 20 people. You don’t want people having to cross their legs or wait in a long line.
SIT OR STAND?
Do you want guests to sit during the ceremony or stand? How many chairs total do you need to rent? Also: have you considered a lounge arrangement? Some couples prefer to rent couches for an informal reception.
DON’T WANT THE HASSLE OF THE MEAL?
Contact your favorite restaurant and ask if they have the capacity for your guests. Many restaurants have special rooms or areas where they can accommodate large groups. Hotels are a great place to start your research. Choose a hotel that can also block of a group of rooms for your out of town guests. Hotels also have some great areas for additional photo’s.
